WHO WE ARE

Chattanooga Cancer Support Services (CCSS) is dedicated to making a difference in cancer care for underserved adults and families by offering an integrated approach to programs that extend financial assistance, education and support in hopes that all may live life with stability, strength and resilience through the journey of a cancer diagnosis.

Project Access (PA) maintains a network of area physicians, hospitals, community clinics, and other partners who donate their services and connects patients who qualify for these medical offerings. Project Access patients earn too much to qualify for programs like TennCare, but not enough to pay for insurance while still being able to afford basic needs such as food, clothing, and housing. Since its inception in 2004, Project Access has served more than 22,000 local residents and provided more than $200 million in donated medical services.

Volunteers in Medicine (VIM) is a medical clinic open Monday through Wednesday from 9:00 a.m.to 4:00 p.m. and is free to those who qualify for services. In 2022, the organization provided 1,912 primary care visits. VIM provides $1 million dollars a year in patient prescription assistance and over $18 million in prescriptions have been dispensed since the clinic doors opened in 2005.  All medical care is provided by volunteers at no cost to patients, resulting in over 165,000 volunteer service hours that fosters a culture of caring for our community.
